STEAM Power at SOME
In partnership with the community organization So Others Might Eat (SOME), we are able to provide the STEAM Power program to youth who are without access to or the financial resources to participate in similar programs.
The program is held in an easily accessible location, often times, in the the apartment complex where they reside. Children are encouraged to attend and are able to learn in a comfortable, safe and familiar environment.
Our STEAM Team arrives on site with the necessary materials for customized lessons plans and hands on experiments. Children are introduced to STEAM terminology, concepts and principles through easy to understand lessons and projects that can be repeated, and improved upon, on their own.
We encourage them to share what they've learned with their parents or guardians, siblings and friends. It's important to us that we spark their curiosity for new ideas and ignite their self-confidence to bring about change or improvement.
